The term "terrorism" dates back to the French Revolution and the Reign of Terror (Society of the Friends of the Constitution)

9-11 Terrorist Attack
On September 11, 2001 our country changes significantly. It was on this day that over 2,000 people lost their lives due to a terrorist attack in
New York City. Four planes were hijacked by a group of Islamic people. Two of the planes were taken to crash into the World Trade Center in NYC, a third plane hit the Pentagon in Washington D.C, and the fourth plane crashed into a field in Pennsylvania.
Political terrorism – Violent criminal behavior designed primarily to generate fear in the community, or substantial segment of it, for political purposes
Civil disorder – A form of collective violence interfering with the peace, security, and normal functioning of the community
Limited political terrorism – characterized by a revolutionary approach; "acts of terrorism which are committed for ideological or political motives but which are not part of a concerted campaign to capture control of the state"
Official or state terrorism –"referring to nations whose rule is based upon fear and oppression that reach similar to terrorism or such proportions"; terrorist acts carried out by governments in pursuit of political objectives
