Transcript of Food Commons

Food Commons
To PRODUCE food is to collaborate with the natural environment, integrating artificial and natural resources to spur their conversion into energy for people. This is a cultural act, each generation engaging with an evolving tradition, as much as it is a biological process.
MARKETING reinforces personal relationships: farmer to consumer, consumer to consumer, consumer to farmer, farmer to farmer.

The exchange is multifaceted: food for living, knowledge for cultivation, and interaction for community.
To PLAN is to identify flows in agricultural ecologies. There is no ‘waste’. Each stage in the food cycle becomes a resource for the next stage. PLANNING, then, is a continuous process responding to ever-present change.
