You can take a class for grade forgiveness online over the summer but be aware it may take longer than you think!
TESTS REQUIRED FOR COLLEGE
Commonly know as the CPT
ACT and SAT should be taken by the Spring of the Junior year
ACT/SAT can also be used as concordant scores for passing the FCAT and Bright Futures
Choose your classes wisely and appropriately to fit your academic ability and needs
Start visiting Colleges/Universities over the summer
Practice for the SAT and ACT
Take no later than the end of your Junior year
Start to look at college applications, check due dates, essay, and test requirements
Student Course Verifications will show all the classes that have been recommended by your current teachers. If you are missing a core class, ask your teacher to write in your recommendation.

School Counselors will review your request at your registration appointment.
If you don’t meet the requirements of the class, you may complete a re-evaluation request form.
We will check at the end of the 4th nine weeks to see if you meet the requirements for the class.

Please select carefully, if it is on your sheets as a choice, you WILL NOT be taken out of the class

Completed and signed Internal intern, external intern, and MODIFIED paperwork completed (available on BTHS website)
External Internship –
Students who have a job may take this course and get credit for working at least 5 hours per week.
Must pass Algebra 1 EOC
Must take Geometry
Must include Biology, 2 lab sciences

As per the state of Florida,
you must complete one FULL
course (either 0.5 or 1 credit) through online means (most students will meet this by taking the HOPE course)

Registration appointments will occur during student English/Language Arts courses in the Auditorium.
Remember to think about your class selection carefully. You have until April 6th to make any changes to your requests for next year.
Internship at School-
Students are placed with a teacher or dept. to assist with basic clerical duties.
Students receive community service hours (37.5 per semester)

Students must meet AT LEAST ONE of the criteria listed below to take an Honors or AP level course:
Grades – A grade of “C” or better in the previous honors course. Students earning an “A” in a previous standard class, may be recommended for Honors or AP.
FSA/FCAT – Level 4 or 5 in appropriate area and not less than a level 3 in any area
PSAT – A score of 48 or higher on an appropriate assessment.
PLAN – A score of 170 (English), 210 (Math), or higher on the appropriate assessment.

MARCH 12th - 15th: Switzerland Point Middle
