What task does this robot perform?
What human function or task does this robot simulate?
This robot , the Aethon TUG, moves supplies,
medication, linens, and food.
Where is this robot used?
In hospitals.
What is its work envelope?
It moves around anywhere to deliver
needed items in the hospital.
How many degrees of freedom does it have?
Is the robotic end effector multi-functional?
If so, what other tasks can it perform?
Their are 2 end effectors on this robot. The
lift only lifts the cart up. The drawers keep any one from stealing what ever is in them, carries them, and keeps people from making a mistake on their order.

How is the robot taught to perform its task?
By programming.
What sensors does this robot have and how does the robot use these sensors?
Infrared and sonar sensors
detect low-lying obstacles.

Some say it does not adjust its sound in loud environments
Some say it interrupts at inappropriate moments

What impact has this robot had or could have on its intended audience?
The Aethon TUG has reduced nurse labor and has helped supplies go quicker to its destination. This robot was never meant to take away nurses job. It was meant to work hand in hand with nurses and help them in their job.
What type of careers can this robot create to employ people?
People will be employed because of this robot. People are needed to build, program, fix, and maintain the TUG.
How may this robot be altered to perform more or different tasks in the future?
I predict it will perform simple nursing tasks
like measuring height and weight in the future.
