Transcript of Change

Change As we drove past my grandmother’s old house I felt a surge of pain and sadness go through me. The once white wooden house with red framing was now a green much more modern looking house. The rusty mail box that once said Walker had been replaced with a much newer, shinier one. We kept driving by instead of pulling into the long, red dirt drive like we did so many summers before. I was not a big fan of change. The flower garden that was my grandma’s pride and joy was now dead and wilted away. I thought of all of the summers I had spent there, running through the fields, fishing, four wheeling, eating home cooked meals, and putting pennies on the train tracks. Some Things Never Change “I caught one!! It’s big!” I yelled to my father. He ran over to see my first catch of the day. Disappointment clouded his face. He knew my largemouth bass was bigger than his last 3 catches combined. I posed and smiled with my prized fish as my mother snapped a picture. “I really thought I would beat you this summer”, he said. I guess some things never change. The End
