Allow me to illustrate...
Moodle is a great tool for some types of learning...
... but it isn't suited to just any learning activity.
Moodle is helpful when introducing new material...
and useful for assessing student comprehension.
To learn is to make connections.

Between information and people.

Between self and the community.
We can enable students to exercise agency.

We can require students to exercise judgement.

Students like to talk.

We all love an audience.

Students can be teachers too.

Because teaching is applied learning.
Students must engage actively to learn.

Learning is a conversation.

Humans are social beings.
Moodle's traditional approach & reliance on a knowledge management paradigm over an information retrieval paradigm
limits its relevance & utility in the new era of ubiquitous computing
