Transcript of Artificial Intelligence
Artificial intelligence (AI) is intelligence exhibited by machines. In computer science, the field of AI research defines itself as the study of "intelligent agents": any device that perceives its environment and takes actions that maximize its chance of success at some goal.
Where is it used?
Science and technology
Risks of AI
The existential risk from artificial general intelligence is the hypothetical threat that dramatic progress in artificial intelligence (AI) could someday result in human extinction (or some other unrecoverable global catastrophe)
What is the ultimate goal of Artificial Intelligence?
To build a rational agent that can exceed human intelligence.
Where did the concept of Artificial Intelligence come from?
History of Artificial Intelligence roots back to classical philosophers but the field of AI wasn't formally founded until 1956, at a conference at Dartmouth College, in Hanover, New Hampshire, where the term "artificial intelligence" was coined.
