Simile and Metaphor Finder
Transcript of Simile and Metaphor Finder
I chose "Firework" by Katy Perry. It has a simile in the song. "Do you ever feel like a plastic bag". In this song it is comparing how you are feeling and a plastic bag. It does not mean you are in a plastic bag. It means that you don't feel that great and you are sick or angry.
I found another simile in "Firework" by Katy Perry. The simile is "Do you ever feel, feel so paper thin, Like a house of cards, one blow from caving in?" It is comparing feeling paper thin and a house of cards. It means that you are really thin and if you eat or do one thing you are going to get bigger (not skinny).
I chose the song "Human Nature" by Micheal Jackson. The metaphor is "If This Town
Is Just An Apple
Then Let Me Take A Bite" It is comparing town and an apple. It means that the town is nothing to him. He doesn't really care about anything in the town. It is a bite in an apple or something really bad instead of a really good town.
I found another one in "Firework" by Katy Perry. The metaphor is "'Cause, baby, you're a firework". It is comparing you and firework. It means that you are the best at everything. You also mean everything to do with that person. You are also the best you could ever be.
"Firework" by Katy Perry
There is a simile in "Firework" by Katy Perry. The simile is "You don't have to feel like a wasted space". It is comparing you/feel and wasted space. It means that you are there because the person actually cares and does want you there. You aren't there to take up space, you are actually there because she wants you there.
In the song "Naturally" by Selena Gomez. The metaphor is "You are the thunder and I am the lightning, And I love the way you,
Know who you are and to me it's exciting,When you know it's meant to be" It is comparing you and thunder and me and lightning. It means that we are always together just like how thunder and lightning always go together.
