the "ex Basketball Player"
AN EX BASKETBALL PLAYER
Lenny Cooke
The "ex Basketball Player" is a poem by John Updike. What i learned from this poem is eventually in the future you have to move on but never forget your past. it is about a high school basketball star that ends up working at a gas station.
my synthesis to this poem and my personal connection is Lenny Cooke.Lenny was a basketball player who was a big star in high school, he had all the fame.He thought that he was going to go straight to the NBA right out of high school, but during the draft he did not get picked by any team and that cancled his eligibility to go to college.
