Pop Culture: They play Gaelic games witch are the traditional sport played in Ireland. The two main Gaelic games are Gaelic foot ball and hurling. Both are played by the Gaelic Athletic Association(GAA). Hurling is an outdoor sport and is Ireland's national sport.
Folk Culture: Irish people are known for Boxing . There are many boxing clubs in Ireland some of the best champions have come from Ireland and it is still providing great boxing talents today.

Popular Culture: Claddagh ring is a traditional Irish ring which is worn as a sign of love or friendship. The design consists of a pair of hands holding a heart with a crown on it. Short dresses, skirts, tights, scarves, belts and skinny jeans are commonly worm for women. Ireland tends to be cold in the winter but women can still be seen wearing skimpy clothing. Men's clothing includes a pair of straight leg jeans, chinos, cotton plaid shirt and a dark-colored wool sweater.
Folk CultureThe poorer Irish wore a standard outfit that would more than likely have been found not only in the British Isles but also on the continent. This outfit consisted of the Inar, Trius, Brat, and Léine. Inar The Inar was a jacket. It was normally constructed of wool. Trius The trius or trews were a type of pants. They were normally fairly tight to the leg. These were made of wool cut on the bias. Brat The brat was a mantle or cloak made of a long rectangle of wool.Léine The léine or shirt.. In general a woman would wear an ankle length léine. Over this she would wear a dress. Over this she would wear a brat (shawl/cloak).

Pop Culture: Oscar Wilde was an Irish poet, playwright and author. His most famous work is The Importance of Being Earnest.William Butler Yeats is probably Ireland’s best known poet and a founder of the Abbey Theater. Jack B. Yeats (1871-1957). It includes a number of the artist’s most popular works, The Singing Horseman (1949), Men of Destiny(1946), A Lake Regatta (1923) and Above the Fair (1946). The Meeting on the Turret Stairs by Frederic William Burton (1816-1900).
Folk Culture: These are some old school irish painters Nathaniel Hone( Born in Dublin) 1718-1784, painted "Caroline", Alexander Pope 1763-1835 painted a "Self Portrait", Robert Hunter 1715-1803 "Portrait of A Young Man", and St. George Hare 1857-1933 " Fifty Years Since Our Wedding Day".
Housing: Pop & Folk Culture
Pop Culture: Ireland has a high percentage of owner occupiers.
Folk Culture: Many of the homes in Ireland are very old, especially the homes in the rural areas of the country.
Popular Culture: Its the main focus of the meals and there most famous dishes use potato.
Folk Culture: In Ireland. they use traditional cooking methods and have little reliance on elaborate souses and spices. irish food is dominated by the potato.
Food: Pop & Folk Culture
Pop Culture: There are a number of singers that are well know to day that originate from Ireland, such as Niall Horan from the band 1 Direction, and Siva Kaneswaran from the band the wanted.Céilí is a social gathering for dancing. Popular Irish dances include: The Walls of Limerick, Siege of Ennis. Christy Moore is a popular folk singer and song writer. U2 are one of the most popular bands in the world.
Folk Culture: Van Morrison is a Grammy Award-winning singer, songwriter, author, poet and multi-instrumentalist. He has written over 150 songs. Celtic music. Reels , hornpipes , and jigs, as well as imported waltzes, mazurkas, polkas, and highlands or barndances .
