Mean-
and dividing by the total.

1+1+2+4=8

8/4=2 (The mean is 2)
Median The middle number in a set of data. Put the numbers in order from least to greatest and then find the middle number.
1, 2, 8, 10, 11, 11, 13

If there is no middle number, add the two numbers in the middle and divide by 2.

1, 2, 8, 10, 11, 12, 12, 14

10+11= 21
21/2= 10.5 (Median is 10.5)

Mode The number that
occurs most often.
2, 4, 4, 8, 10
The mode is 4.

2, 3, 4, 8
There is no mode.

2, 3, 3, 4, 4, 5
There are two modes:
3 and 4 Range Putting a set of data
in order from least to
greatest and then choosing
the first and last numbers and subtracting them.

1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7
