2. Qualified Mate's Receipt
prepared by exported.

at the time of entry into the port, it is verified by the Port Authorities.

Issued by airline for carriage of goods.
Not a Document of Title.
Acts as a Customs Declaration form.
Contains the details about freight & works as a Freight Bill.
Goods are divided into three categories:
1. Free Goods.
2. Goods for Home Consumption.
3. Bonded Goods.

DOCUMENTS RELATED TO GOODS
PROFORMA INVOICE
Starting Point of an export contract.
Forms the basis of all trade transactions.
Helps in obtaining import licence.
COMMERCIAL INVOICE
" Prima Facie Evidence" of the contract of sale.
Main Document for various export formalities.
Used for accounting purpose.
Required in negotiation of documents.
Essential for Claiming Incentives.
LEGALIZED INVOICE
Certain Latin American countries like Mexico require it.
This is just like consular invoice, which requires certification from consulate or authorized mission, stationed in exporter's country.
"Packing Note refers to the particulars of contents of an individual pack".
"Packing List is consolidated statement of contents of the total number of cases or packs".
SOFTEX FORM
It is required to be prepared,triplicate,for export of computer software in non-physical form.
VP/COD FORM
Its is required to be filled for all export transactions to all countries by post where the export proceeds are realized on "value payable" or "cash on delivery basis".
PP FORM
It is required to be filled in for all export transactions,
in duplicate, for all countries to be made by post parcel, expect when made on "value payable" or "cash on delivery basis".
GR FORM
Its an Exchange Control Document.
required by RBI.
Prepared in Duplicate.
Used for all exports in physical form other than post.
replaced by SDF( Statutory Declaration Form).

CERTIFICATE OF INSPECTION
Issued by the Export Inspection Agency under Export(Quality Control and Inspection) Act,1963 and found that the requirements relating to quality control and inspection have been complied with, as applicable, and the goods are export worthy.
DOCUMENTS RELATED TO PAYMENT
LETTER OF CREDIT
Its a document containing guarantee of a bank to make payment to the export.

Most important advantage is that exporter can obtain the payment from bank, at his own centre.
BILL OF EXCHANGE
"an instrument in writing containing an unconditional undertaking, signed by the marker, directing a certain person to pay a certain sum of money only to, or to the order of, a certain person or to the bearer of instrument".
-The Negotiable Instruments Act,1881
TRUST RECEIPT
Importer is unable to make payment, on arrival of the shipment & take possession of goods, he executes a Trust Receipt to take delivery of goods.

Importer doesn't have title of the goods,but has right to sell it, he acts an agent to the bank.
BANK CERTIFICATE OF PAYMENT
Issued by Negotiating Bank the exporter that the bill covering the shipment has been negotiated through it and export proceeds have been received from the importer.

REFERENCE
These forms are meant for removal of excisable goods for export by sea/post. Now, in their place, ARE-1 form is used.
Used for applying for rebate of duty on excisable goods(except vegetable, non-essential oils & tea) exported by sea.

submitted to Collector of Central Excise in triplicate.
"Gate Pass"

Issued for removal of excisable goods from the factory or warehouse.

GP1 issued on payment of duty.

GP2 issued on removal of goods without payment.

when the commercial invoice is prepared on the format prescribed by the customs authorities of the importing country, its is called "Customs Invoice". This is required in U.S.A. , Canada and Australia.
