He wanted to create a day to celebrate our planet Earth and he needed something to channel peoples anti-war energy into, as this was during the height of the Vietnam War.
He talked to President Kennedy, who later began traveling around the U.S. to discuss the problems of Earth.
However, Senator Nelson and the others still did not think enough was being done, so they created a day called Earth Day.
On April 22nd, 1970 the first Earth Day took place, and all across America people took part in the event to demonstrate a healthy sustainable environment. Reduce & Reuse One person's trash is another person's treasure.
Instead of throwing unwanted things away, sell or donate them. There are many benefits to donating. Helps prevent things from going to city dumps or land fills, and also helps your commumity and those in need. - Earth Day takes place on April 22, and is a day where people all around the world go green and help the Earth by planting
trees, picking up
litter or trash,
and recycling. Recycling is when you collect materals such as paper, cans, and plastics so they can be turned into something else. One of the benefits of recycling is that it reduces the amount of waste that is sent to dumps or landfills.
Recycling also conserves natural resources such as wood, water, etc.
The steps to recycling are
1.)collecting and processing,
2.) manufacturing, and
3.) buying new products made from recycled materials. HWCHomeopathyVideo. (Director) (2011). Earth day april 22, 2012 [Web]. Retrieved from What can you do for
