Conclusion
The lyrics of the song 'Counting Stars' is mainly about money and the importance of love and living. It's about how money isn't everything and instead of 'counting dollars, we'll be counting stars'. There is a possible reference to drugs in the line 'I-I-I-I feel something so right Doing the wrong thing -I-I-I feel something so wrong doing the right thing.' because he feels wrong doing it but it makes him feel alive, but there are many other things that this could be referring to. 'Lately I've been, I've been losing sleep. Been dreaming bout the things that we could be.' This line is about all the things we want and want to be, and how it can make us loose sleep. The work and effort we put in our dreams keeps us from sleeping and from enjoying our life as it is.'Take that money, watch it burn. Sing in the river, the lessons are learned.' This means that money won't last forever and it will just disappear.
