The Education & Experience

vocational training, and job-related coursework are the minimum formal education requirements for this occupation, some may require an associate degree or a bachelor's degree.

Singers typically perform at night and on weekends. Since most musicians find only part-time work, experiencing unemployment between engagements is common.

What Are Singers?
•Sing songs on stage, radio, television, or motion pictures.
•Memorize musical selections and routines.
•Apply knowledge of harmony, melody, rhythm, and voice production to material.
•Perform live for audiences.
What They Do
They Have To Do So Much Like:
•Find and learn new music.
•Sing as a soloist or as a member of a vocal group.
•Make or participate in recordings.
•Practice singing exercises.
