1 Cor 12:7

“A spiritual gift is given to each of us so we can help each other.”
The ‘whole body profits’ because new gifts are added to a believer.
All parts in the human body has a purpose same with the Spiritual gifts that is to
build up
perfect the church.
To manifest the God’s presence in the Body of Christ on earth - When spiritual gifts are active, it is another indication of the presence of God the Holy Spirit in the Church
because they fail to desire
allow the
Holy Spirit
to work

Receive the Gifts
1Co 12:31

“So you should earnestly desire the most helpful gifts. But now let me show you a way of life that is best of all.”
Every believer should go to the Lord in prayer and ask Him to release these gifts.
Desiring the gifts enable the person to connect to the Holy Spirit and desiring that the Holy Spirit will pour out these gifts and be used for Kingdom cause.
After receiving the gifts, the believers must cooperate to the leading of the Holy Spirit. To the extent of where and how the Holy Spirit want him/her use these gifts.
The Holy Spirit Desires to Give
1Co 12:11

“It is the one and only Spirit who distributes all these gifts. He alone decides which gift each person should have.”
Each Christian is given spiritual gifts according to the Lord’s choice.
Every believer in Christ has a gift. Not one person has been forgotten.
1Ti 4:14
“Do not neglect the spiritual gift you have, given to you and confirmed by prophetic words when the elders laid hands on you.”
When you receive the gifts use it accordingly for the purposes to glorify God and not yourself. To build the church not to cause chaos.
The gift must not be hidden and should be shared to the body of Christ.
1Co 12:11

“It is the one and only Spirit who distributes all these gifts. He alone decides which gift each person should have.”
Gift must be used
Develop the Gifts you have
2Ti 1:6
“This is why I remind you to fan into flames the spiritual gift God gave you when I laid my hands on you.” (NLT)
The gift needs constant practice to be advantageous in the Kingdom of God.
Fan into the flames – is a metaphor used by Paul to suggest Timothy’s tendency to neglect or depreciate his grace gift from God. The solution is always to be connected to the source who is God.
1. All the gifts of the Holy Spirit mentioned in the New Testament are intended for today.
2. Baptism in the Holy Spirit is an empowering experience subsequent to conversion and should be sought by Christians today.
3. When baptism in the Holy Spirit occurs, people will speak in tongues as a "sign" that they have received this experience and gifts will be activated.
1 Corinthians 12:4-11
