Calcium Hydroxide- Ca(OH)
Now for the interesting stuff...
CAUTION!
the uses of Calcium Hydroxide
^Calcium^ Hydroxide ^in^ its ^natural^ form^
Used for root canal filings
Form: white powder (kind of like powdered sugar.....but definitely NOT powdered sugar)
Lime milk is a strong base which is mostly used as an inexpensive alkali - a suspension in water (milk of lime). it is used to make leather, whitewash, mortar, and plaster. Limewater is a clear, saturated water solution of calcium hydroxide. Often used to treat acid burns. Because calcium hydroxide readily reacts with carbon dioxide, CO2, to form calcium carbonate, a mixture of gases can be tested for the presence of CO2 by shaking it with limewater in a clear container; if CO2 is present, a cloudy calcium carbonate precipitate will form. DUN DUN DUNNN!!!
