Luke Singing Please Don't Go
February 3rd, 2011- Luke Hemmings, 14, creates a YouTube channel called 'Hemmo1996' and posts a cover of Please Don't Go by Mike Posner.
February 22nd, 2011- Luke posts another cover on YouTube of him singing and playing Jersey by Mayday Parade on the guitar.
The same day, he posts another cover of Just The Way You Are by Bruno Mars.
March 8th, 2011- Luke covers Forget You by Cee Lo Green
March 14th, 2011- Luke covers Fireflies by Ron Pope
April 2011- Luke, Calum Hood, and Michael Clifford have a talk at school, Norwest Christian College, and decide to all post covers on Luke's channel as a band.
April 16th, 2011- Calum and Michael are introduced to the channel and announce they started a band called 5 Seconds of Summer with Luke.
June 2011- The three boys post acoustic covers.
June 4th, 2011- Luke, Michael and Calum cover I Miss You by Blink 182.
June 24th, 2011- Luke and Michael post If It Means A Lot To You by A Day To Remember.
July 1st, 2011- Luke, Calum, Michael post Next To You by Chris Brown and Justin Bieber.
July 28th, 2011- Luke and Calum post Forever My Father by Go Radio.
August 1st, 2011- Luke posts solo cover of A Drop In The Ocean by Ron Pope.
August 17th, 2011- Luke and Calum cover Rolling In The Deep by Adele.
December 3rd, 2011- Ashton Irwin joins band and they play their first full band show at Sydney's Annandale Hotel.
December 16th, 2011- Introduce Ashton to band on YouTube channel with a cover of Teenage Dirtbag by WHEATUS.

5 Seconds of Summer is an Australian rock band whose music is a mixture of '90s punk-pop and more recent boyband-pop.

The band formed in Sydney in 2011. The band consists of Luke Hemmings, Michael Clifford, Calum Hood, and Ashton Irwin.

- Luke Hemmings- Frontman. Vocals and Guitar.

- Michael Clifford- Guitarist. Vocals and Guitar.

- Calum Hood- Bassist. Vocals and Bass.

- Ashton Irwin- Drummer. Vocals and Drums.

February 14th, 2012- Michael and Ashton post a V-Day comp of them after they've called fans.
March 2012- Cover of Next To You by Chris Brown and Justin Bieber hits 500,000 views
April 7th, 2012- Luke and Calum cover The A Team by Ed Sheeran to mark 40,000 likes on their band's Facebook page.
April 2012- Begin recording second EP "Somewhere New" at Studios 301.
May 2012- 5SOS plays East Coast Tour before leaving for North American dates of Take Me Home Tour with One Direction.
May 21st, 2012- Posts original song from debut EP(Unplugged), "Gotta Get Out (Acoustic)"
June 2012- Somewhere New-EP release date announced // Unplugged-EP released, soaring to #3 in Australia and top #20 in New Zealand and Swedan // Boys meet Smallzy from NOVA
July 2012- "Twenty Twelve" promo tour for the release of Unplugged EP. They covered major cities in Australia, including Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, and Brisbane.
August 2012- Boys do a mini acoustic concert in Sydney's Hyde Park for free
September 2012- National Support Slot with Hot Chelle Rae // Spend 3 weeks in London and do another mini acoustic concert in London's Hyde Park
September 20th, 2012- Boys cover Year 3000 by Jonas Brothers.
October 6th, 2012- Luke and Calum cover Give Me Love by Ed Sheeran.
October 22nd, 2012- 5 Seconds of Summer announced to be opening act for every show on Hot Chelle Rae's 'Whatever World Tour' with Cher Lloyd until November.
November 3rd, 2012- First New Zealand show with them as headliners for Auckland, New Zealand.
November 26th, 2012- Post official video for single, "Out of My Limit."
December 3rd, 2012- Boys become record-holders on Hot 30 countdown hitting #1 for single, Out of My Limit, six nights in a row before the show ended. 1 year anniversary of 5SOS.
December 5th, 2012- The boys post audio version of original song, "Unpredictable."
December 7th, 2012- Somewhere New EP released.
December 11th, 2012- Somewhere New EP launch at the Metro Theatre in Sydney.
December 19th, 2012- The boys post a video on YouTube called their "London Update" announcing they've moved to London to begin writing and recording with Capitol, enabling them to work with people like McFly, Kaiser Chiefs, and The Darkness.
January 2013- Michael dyes his hair for the first time // The boys befriend Niall Horan and the rest of One Direction leading to a conjoined tour.
January also brings many "House Diaries."
January 2013- One Direction's Take Me Home Tour begins with supporting act 5 Seconds of Summer.
February 22nd, 2013- The boys release and post music video for "Heartbreak Girl", gaining more attention from different crowds.
July 5th, 2013- 5SOS vs FOOD in Miami
June 1st, 2013- Releases and post Try Hard music video on channel.
September 23rd, 2013- Boys post original song called "Wherever You Are," written for and dedicated to the fans. The video is them singing while some of their favorite memories they have on video, throughout their musical journey, play on screen.
October 11th, 2013- Another mini concert in Sydney's Hyde Park // First Sydney show for TMH tour.
November 24th, 2013- Thank You video for 500,000 subscribers on YouTube.
December 2nd, 2013- 5SOS on Michael // 5SOS on Luke
December 3rd, 2013- 5SOS on Ashton // 5SOS on Calum // 3 different livestreams in honor of the 2nd anniversary of 5SOS labeled "#5SOSBDAY"
December 24th, 2013- A very 5SOS Christmas #JOLLY5SOS
February 2014- Month long headlining tour across UK.
