Height: 5'04'' Weight: 137 Description Background December 1989 - November 1990 Active killings Killings Her motive for killing those men were to rob them of their possessions and killing them for her hate of humanity Wuornos was born as Aileen Carol Pittman in Rochester, Michigan.
Wuornos never met her father who was in prison for attempted murder of a seven year old girl. Wuornos also had an older brother named Keith.
Both Wuornos and her brother were abandoned and left with their maternal grandparents.
At age 11 Wournos engaged in sexual activity in school in exchange for cigarettes, drugs, and food. She had also engaged in sexual activities with her brother and claimed that she was sexually assaulted and beaten as a child by her grandfather, an alcoholic. According to her accusations, before beating her, he would force her to strip out of her clothes.
In 1970, at age 14, she became pregnant having been raped by a friend of her grandfather. A few months after her baby was born, Wuornos dropped out of school and put the baby up for adoption. When she was 15, her grandfather threw her out of the house, and she began supporting herself as a prostitute and living in the woods near her old home. Killed 6 men, and her conviction was 7 counts of 1st degree murder including herself Wuornos claimed that her victims had either raped or attempted to rape her while she was working as a prostitute, and that all of the killings were committed in self-defense. left through out the crime scene and her earlier criminal record made it easier for detectives to spot her "I killed those men, robbed them as cold as ice. And I'd do it again, too. There's no chance in keeping me alive or anything, because I'd kill again. I have hate crawling through my system...I am so sick of hearing this 'she's crazy' stuff. I've been evaluated so many times. I'm competent, sane, and I'm trying to tell the truth. I'm one who seriously hates human life and would kill again." -
Wuornos statement On January 9th 1991 Justice finally caught up with Aileen Wuornos and she was arrested her at the Biker Bar called " The Last Resort " in Volusia County Florida. Under police guidance, Moore made numerous telephone calls to Wuornos, pleading for help in clearing her name. Police found one of the victims abandoned cars police also found some of the victims' belongings in pawnshops and retrieved fingerprints matching those found in the victims' cars. Wuornos had a criminal justice record in Florida, and her fingerprints were on file. Three days later, on January 16, 1991, Wuornos confessed to the murders. She claimed the men had tried to rape her and she killed them in self-defense. How was she caught ? In 1986 Wuornos met Tyria Moore at a bar in Daytona Beach, Florida, and they began an intense romantic relationship that ended just before Wuornos’ final arrest in 1991. Wuornos’ relationship with Moore was her second relationship with a woman. As a prostitute, her clients were mainly middle-aged, low-to-middle-class white men. The film Monster won an Oscar that was based on the life of Aileen Wuornos. Theron (the actor who played wournos won seventeen awards for her portrayal, including the Academy Award for Best Actress, Golden Globe Award for Best Actress and the Screen Actors Guild Awards for Outstanding Lead Actress.
