England is a country with many famous landmarks. Big Ben is the third largest clock tower in the world and was built in 1288 (Big Ben, 2012). Buckingham Palace is located in Westminster City, London. Stonehenge is a prehistoric monument located in Wiltshire, England. Stonehenge is a formation of stones, it’s construction began over 5,000 years ago (Stonehenge, 2011).

Stone tools have been discovered near Lowestoft in Suffolk, these show a history of habitation of at least 700,000 years. Around 4,000 B.C. migrants arrived from Europe that settled and farmed areas such as Salisbury Plain in South England. In the Iron Age, people had access to better tools and more land was used for farming, a pattern of fields and villages still exists in rural England today (History, 2014).
