Transcript of Fennec foxes
Their big ears
In this presentation I will be talking all about Fennec foxes (Vulpes Zerda), Fennec foxes come from the canidae family
Fennec Foxes live in the boiling hot sun of the Sahara Dessert, so these little guys have to have amazing adaptions to survive.
The Sahara Dessert
One of the Fennec foxes biggest adaptions is that they have huge bat like ears to radiate body heat and help keep them cool in the hot days of the Sahara Dessert.
Fennec foxes are able to pump their blood into their ears, which the wind cools, Then they pump the now cool blood back through their body!
These amazing animals have long, thick hair that insulates them during cold nights and protects them from hot sun during the day.
Fennec foxes eat plants, rodents,
Fennec fox's even have hair on their feet. The hair protects them from the boiling hot sand and helps them frequently dig, which is very helpful because Fennec foxes have to make new burrows regularly.
Because Fennec foxes are so cute, people go into there habitat and illegally kidnap them for pets! Fennec foxes are also affected by people hunting these extraordinary animals for their fur
Fennec foxes are the smallest foxes in the world
Fennec foxes ears are up to 6 inches (15 cm)
Fennec foxes are nocturnal and only come out at night to hunt food and play
