Movies Movies were abundant at this time and at a good price for people to go see.
Some popular movies during this time is Gone with the Wind, Wizard of Oz, City Lights, and King Kong. During the Great Depression people, of course, as you already know were very low on money. So what would they do for fun with a shortage of money?
Neighbors got together and played card games, and just talk. There was soda fountains and local dances for young people to meet and talk.
Children read in comics about superman, of course if the family even had enough money to buy the comics. Radio Nearly everyone in this time period had a radio in their home, unless of course that was already taken away.
Many children liked to listen to a radio show called "Little Orphan Annie", Annie and her dog would solve mysteries. The radio let people listen to the world. People liked listening to sports and news.
Singing telegrams were popular.
Jazz and swing music was popular to dance to.
