What is David Karp's Social, Cultural, and Ethnic Background?
David Karp is an American who grew up on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. He attended the Calhoun School where his mother taught Science. He dropped out of school at age 15 and started doing Homeschool. He never got his High School Diploma.
How did David Karp's Background influence his choices or outcomes?
It is not clear why his background influence made him want a specific kind of blogging website. He waited for another blogging website to make something like it, but after a year, he just decided to make it himself.
What did David Karp do that was memorable?
David Karp created Tumblr with Marco Arment. Tumblr was launched in February 2007 and within two weeks, the service had gained 75,000 users. As of March 10, 2014, Tumblr hosts over 175 million blogs.
How has David Karp's work helped shape american society?
It helped shape American society by giving people a place to share pretty much anything they want from cat pictures to their views on homosexuality and gender inequality leading to spirited posts from users.
What did you learn about David Karp that will affect or inspire your own life in some way?
What I learned from David Karp is you don't need to finish or graduate highschool to be successful. You just need to be good at something no one else really understands and/or be social enough to make a lot of friends in high places. So I'm screwed, basically.

David Karp followed HUNT by knowing he wanted a tumblelog (short-form blog). He overcame any roadblocks along the way easily enough that they aren't even recorde. He met and acquainted himself with Marco Arment, a web engineer, who also wanted a tumblelog website. Together, they began working on their own tumblelogging platform during a two-week gap between contracts in 2006.

If he did, it was for reasons too small to record. Making a website it pretty straightforward. You buy a domain name and you code it to look and work however you want with html. If anything, David found many ways not to code the website.
