By Garrett and Joe Mountains Mountains are very steep and big. Mountains are landforms that are much higher than the land around them. To be a mountain the land form must be at least 2,000 feet. Mountains have different shapes. Some places between mountains are called valleys. The highest mountain in the world is mount Everest. 29,029 feet (8,848 m)
Mount Everest, Elevation Many mountains have pointed tops called peaks. Others have long narrow high spots called ridges. Many people can do different things with mountains like ( climbing, hiking, biking, rock climbing, skydiving off a Mountain, jumping off a Mountain into water, and skiing.)
