Where's Arles? Gogh was a Dutch post-Impressionist painter whose work, notable for its rough beauty, emotional honesty and bold color, had a far-reaching influence on 20th-century art. Who is Vincent Van Gogh? When he was living with another famous artist, Paul Gaugin, seizure of illness made him to cut off his own ear. He cut his ear. Gogh drew this piece when he was living in Arles. Cafe Terrace at Night He drew this in Arles, too. The Langlois Bridge Van Gogh announced and described this composition in a letter to his brother Theo:

Included a small sketch of a 30 square canvas - in short the starry sky painted by night, actually under a gas jet. The sky is aquamarine, the water is royal blue, the ground is mauve. The town is blue and purple. The gas is yellow and the reflections are russet gold descending down to green-bronze. On the aquamarine field of the sky the Great Bear is a sparkling green and pink, whose discreet paleness contrasts with the brutal gold of the gas. Two colorful figurines of lovers in the foreground. Starry Nights Van Gogh has two 'Starry Nights'. But actually, one drawn at Arles is called, "Starry Nights over the Rhone" It is hospital he stayed. He drew a lot even when he was staying in there.
