How to make it in NYC?
Transcript of How to make it in NYC?
You always want more, and you want it now- bigger, brighter, better, more friends, more passion, more love, just more! It’s how teenagers think and that’s how I feel about the city. So, I get to be teenager my whole life.
How’s that? Not bad, baby. You'll always want MORE! I thought it was going to be the most exciting, magical, fraught-with-possibility place that you could ever live in; a place where if you really wanted something, you might be able to get it; a place where I’ll be surrounded by people I was dying to be with. And I turned out to be right. Myth or reality? You and I are one of a kind. I love you, NY. 1.- I dreamed about it.
2.- I worked for it.
3.- And than "over night" it just happened! BURN THE BOATS, meaning there’s nothing but forward, onward, no turning back or running home scared.
When you move here, if you’re any good at all, you burn the boats. I fell in love instantly. New York’s geography is direct and enabling; it helps people meet and get things done.
It’s very hard to get lost. And in fact, it’s very easy to find yourself. New York is a fiction of sorts, a construct, a story, into which you can walk at any moment and at any angle, and en up blindsided, turned upside down, and changed. Why come to NYC? The promise that attracted me to move was the idea that you can come to NY and be surrounded by the people who are best at what they do in many different fields. On that front, I think it delivers. Working your way around the city you can really do run into misappropriate number of really interesting people. What can you expect in NYC? How to get around NYC? Who am I?
I'm passionate about: NYC, startups, social entrepreneurship and traveling.
