Energy

energy: energy is the ability

to cause change.

kinetic energy:Energy from motion.

potential energy: energy that is stored due to an object's position.

thermal energy: energy that increases as

temperature increases.

chemical energy:energy stored in

chemical bonds.

radiant energy: energy

of light.

electrical energy:energy from electricity.

nuclear enrgy: the energy released by a nuclear

reaction,especially by fission or fussion.

law of conservation of energy:energy is never

createdo or destroyed ; it merely changes form.

energy transformation is the process of energy changing from one form to another. This process is happening all the time in the world around us and even in us. When we consume food our body utilizes the chemical energy in the bonds of the food and transforms it into mechanical energy, a new form of chemical energy or thermal energy. An example of this is a calculator that used a photocell, because it changes from light to electrical.

The generator transforms kinetic energy into electrical energy. In fossil fuels power plants, coal , oil, or natural gas is through a turbine , which contains a set of narrowy spaced fan which is turn rotates a shaft in the generator to produce the electrical energy.

The most powerful source of the earth's energy is the sun. And the sun's energy originates in thermonuclear activity within the sun, converting matter into heat , light , and other radiant energy, a small part of which reaches the earth.

fossil fuels are not a renewable resource. Once we've burned them all , there isn't any more, and our consumption of the fossil fuels has nearly doubled every 20 years since 1900. This is a particular problem for oil, because we also use it to make plastics and many other products.

Nuclear energy comes from the splitting of unanium or plutonium

atoms. The process breaks the bonds of these atoms which

release thermal energy.

Artificial dams such as on a river may have a hydroelectric power plant or station attached to them. Dams are used to store water so it can be released in controlled way. Hydroelectricity is derived from the potential energy that water has when it is at a height above hydro dam you will see one side of the dam holds back water at a high level and the other side has water flowing at a low level. Hydroelectricity is a renewable source of energy.

The 3 alternative sources of energy are wind, solar energy, and geothermal energy. some examples of that are are , a wind mill, the sun etc.
