Mr. Steve Lane,

I am writing on behalf of the current listing for a registered Environmental Civil Engineer currently listed on Bright.com on July 18, 2013. It would be my pleasure to contribute my personal skills that I know would be a great fit for myself as well as the company.
Cover Letter Cont'd
I am currently a student majoring in Civil Engineering at New Mexico State University. Over the past couple semesters that I have attended NMSU I have equipped a set of skills that I believe is great that fit the job description. In high school I took dual credit classes at the Dona Ana Community College. While I was in these classes I learned how to read and draw up prints, as well as familiarize myself with Auto Desk, and Auto CAD.

Throughout my four years in high school I took different communication skills courses. These classes ranged from typing, and verbal. This puts my ability to communicate with everybody very effectively. I believe that in order to run a successful business communication is the key. This is very important to me when it comes to working with a team. I am currently involved in many community services around Las Cruces. The most recent would be some volunteer work at my local soup kitchen, as well as the Gospel Rescue Mission Center. Over the course of my volunteer work I have equipped myself with communication skills; therefore I feel completely comfortable talking in front of big groups, and mingling with clients. When volunteering for the Gospel Rescue Mission Center we brought food for people to come in and eat. We coordinated with Dion’s and were able to receive a donation of over 50 pizzas. We also brought desserts that we made ourselves. In the midst of this I was in charge of making desserts, which took a lot of communicating with everybody. We fed over a hundred people that day.

Cover Letter Cont'd
I have held leadership roles before in both college and high school. In high school I was team captain of my baseball team two years in a row. I am also in a fraternity on campus. My fraternity is Lambda Chi Alpha. Before becoming a full active member you come together with your rush class. While in my rush semester I took it upon myself to coordinate our associate member project. I made sure everybody knew when and where we would meet for our project. We painted a mural of our coat of arms in the court yard at our house, and it came out looking fantastic. Over the time I spent with my team and brothers I learned that it is not only important to make sure that every person knows their role, but also that they feel important. I believe that in order to get the most out of your peers is, to make them feel that what they contribute to the team is important. More work will be done and they will complete their duties to the best of their ability. Seeing as how the projects are all team based, I feel that this is an area I will strive in.

It would be my pleasure to contribute my work, as well as my knowledge to a company as great as yours. Working on projects in cooperation with the regional treatment plant in Johnson City, Tennessee would be great. With the help of you I firmly believe that I would be the perfect fit. I would like to thank you for your time, and it would be wonderful to hear back from you, and hopefully be able to set up an interview.
