The current govenor of Philippines is Benigno Aquino III.
To the north is separeted from the island of Taiwan by the strait of Luzon; to the west is located the sea of the southern China; in the southeast, between the country and the island of Borneo, lies the Jolo sea, to the south the Celebes sea separates it from some islans of Indonesia, and to the east it limits with the Philippines sea.
The Spanish colonization in the Philippines lasted more than three centuries and it provide a great part of the cultural and religious traditions of today.

At the end of the war between Spain and USA, United States decided to take control of Philippines making reference of the validity to the Treaty of Paris.

After the occupation of the Japanese Empire during the Second World War and its subsequent defeat, Philippines get the totally independence of USA en July 1946.

Davao is one of the most populous city in Philippines. It is the capital of the region of Davao. Is one of the most important cities in Philippines and it is the capital of the island of Mindanao.
Cebu is a city of Philippines located in the center of the island of Visayas.
Cebu is, with Manila, the economic center of Philippines.

Manila is the capital of Philippines and the island of Luzon, is the second city of the country because of its number of inhabitants, it has a population of 1,652,171 people (2013).
Quezon City is the most populous city of Phlippines, it has more than 2 millon inhabitants. It´s located in the island of Luzon and from 1948 to 1976 it was the capital of Philippines.
Caloocan is one of the cities and municipalities that forms Metro Manila in Philippines. Caloocan is the third city in population of the country, with 1,177,604 inhabitants.
The nature of the Philippines is tropical with plenty of vegetation and rainforests, many of them of volcanic origin.
The nature of this country is amazing with equally impressive places, one of which we highlight is the Manila Bay, a unique place in the country. It is a natural harbor, around which we find places like Whole Island of Luzon, or the peaks of volcanic origin found on both sides of the bay, small peaks surrounded by rainforest. In this environment we also find places like Bataan Island, or Isla de Caballo and other volcanic islets undeveloped and untapped.
Philippines is one of the ten most biologically diverse countries, with one of the highest rates of biodiversity per unit area until 1736 species per 100 km ².
Lacks large predators, with the exception of snakes, such as pythons and cobras, and birds of prey, such as the Philippine eagle monera, the national bird.
The highest mountain is Mount Apo. It´s at the height of 2954 meters above sea level and is located on the island of Mindanao.
The main islands of the Philippines are crossed by large rivers, some of which are navigable. The longest river is the Cagayan Luzon; other important rivers of the island are Chico, Abra, Pampanga and the Bicol. The Rio Grande de Mindanao and Agusan river are the highlights of Mindanao.
Taal lake
Taal Lake is a freshwater lake formed by the volcanic activity 50,000 years - 100,000 years ago. It extends in the province of Batangas in the island.
Lake Buhi
It is a lake found in Buhi, Camarines Sur, Philippines. It has an area of 18 square kilometers and has an average depth of 8 meters.
The existence of a varied number of different languages, dialects and of religious traditions has done that Philippines hasn´t developed an only national culture. For many centuries, the evolution of the cultural history of Philippines has had a local nature enriched with influences of China, Malaysia, Spain and The United States.

Between the traditional sports we can find the arnis, a type of fencing with sticks of wood, and the sipa, a game very similar to the volleyball.

The majority religion is the catholic one, but there exists also the Islamism, the Buddhism, between others.
