Born May 6th, 1758
Maximilien Barthélémy François de Robespierre & Jacqueline Marguerite Carrault
Had 4 younger siblings
AT AGE 23
Moves back to Arras, becomes and practices being a lawyer.
He then becomes wealthy and somewhat famous due to his speeches about monarchy.
Soon he became fond of the idea of moral perfection
King Louis raises taxes.
1st and 2nd estates found this unfair
Maximilien inspires the people to fight back
starts in 1789.
King Louis XIV
leaves with family.
DEATH AT AGE 36
Killed by guillotine without trial on July 28th, 1794.
Even his followers are also guillotined, which is over a thousand men.
AT AGE 6
His mother had died.
Maximilien went to Paris for an education.
He was one of the best students, which allowed him to give a speech to King Louis XVI
Later, he got his law degree at Louis-le-Grand.
DEATH OF KING LOUIS XIV
"The king must die so that the country can live." -Robespierre
Decides that the king must die, for a revolution
King Louis XIV is called a traitor, then gullotined the next day.
1 YEAR LATER
Soon after that, his father left him.
From there, he was raised by his maternal grandparents.

The Commitee of Public Safety.
Supreme Being: Not believing in God, but believing in immortality for the human race.
REIGN OF TERROR
(1793 - 1794)
20,000 are killed by gullotine.
25,000 more are shot by soldiers.
30,000 people are arrested and die in jail.
Tens of thousands of French people are killed by mobs, massacresd, and gullotine.
Estimated to 500,000 deaths.
Anybody who was against the Revolution was tortured and killed.
WAS HE INNOCENT...
Had Maximilien help protect the French?
He wanted the poor to be equal.
Wanted France to improve and progress.
He also wanted to rid France of slavery and monarchy.
Becomes suspicious to National Convention
Overthrown after his own actions.
Commitee of Public Safety members arrested
Called as an outlaw in France
Hides at Hôtel de Ville (City Hall)
Caught after his "failed suicide attempt"
January, elected as third estate general.
Had faith in the French people.
Equality started to inspire the poor and normal citizens.
2 years later, elected head of Jacobin Club
4 years later, elected head of National Assembly
Had Maximilien helped form the laws that we have today?
His role as an influential figure, inspired thousands of people.
