Transcript of Gas Mask

It was created because too many firefighters were dying of smoke inhalation, and also because in World War 1, the Germans had discovered nova 6 toxic gas, and they had also discovered mustard gas. Morgan created this because it would help America win World War 1. It would help distort any poisonous gases other than oxygen so you could breathe. Created in 1914 The gas mask helped save many more lives in fires because the firefighters were able to stay alive, thus saving more people from the fire. It also helped soldiers survive toxic gas attacks in World War one. How it helped society This helps society today because in wars, such as in Afghanistan, they will use gas grenades to kill people in a room very fast, but if they have the gas mask on, it will not work much. They also use a form of the gas mask in places with harmful chemicals such as nuclear power plants and laboratories to protect them from the gases. Firefighters will still use them, but they will be able to save many more lives. How it helps society today THE GAS MASK By Ryne Davis The unlawful reproduction of this presentation will be inspected by the FBI and will most certainly end with your day being ruined. (c) 2013 Barrel Hater productions. The gas mask has changed a lot over time. It used to take a long time to put on, but now you just slip it on and you're ready. It used to be big and bulky, but now it's relatively small. Created by Garrett A. Morgan This is what he looks like Morgan also invented the traffic light. He is known for when he used his safety hood to rescue workers trapped in a tunnel system with lethal gases.
