Plate tectonics and Earth’s structure, rocks and minerals, Earth’s surface, waters, energy in the form of weather, and ecology.
Projects & tests
Pre-history/early humans and the ancient civilizations of Mesopotamia, Egypt, Cush, Israel, India, China, Greece, Rome.
Projects & tests
PE: appropriate footwear on Tuesdays and Thursdays

Music: at least one concert; grades based on participation

Art: Students need a sketchbook; projects may occasionally need to be finished at home
Last Friday of each month
Snacks not containing too much sugar are recommended, i.e. yogurt covered pretzels, mini muffins, apple slices, chocolate covered raisins, fruits, etc.
All treats must be store bought and arrive in their original packaging.

First offense – Verbal warning
Second offense – Student/Teacher conference
Third offense – Parental notification via email, phone, or letter.
Fourth offense & beyond – Referred to the Director and parental notification

Ensure nightly completition of homework & review of tests
Encourage nightly reading; promote study habits for weekly spelling & vocabulary tests
Review "Scoring Guides" with your child; encourage personal writing; review Grammar tests/quizzes
Encourage good study habits; promote opportunities for individual research

90-100 = A
80-89 = B
70-79 = C
60-69 = D
0-59 = F

Extra credit opportunities may be offered to those who have NO incomplete assignments in a given subject area. Extra credit will typically involve individual research, and a presentation format
