(religious leaders that were in charge of the church, owned 10% of land and kept 10% of the monies from that land).
1.5% 2nd Estate
(lived on manors inherited, owned 25% of land, collected rent from peasants living on their land).
98% 3rd Estate
(owned 65% of the land, consisted of merchants, manufacturers, bankers, doctors and lawyer. Some were urban workers and peasants).

banned the National Assembly from meeting, so on July 14, 1789 a large mob stormed the Bastille- which was a hated prison in France.

The National Convention appointed Robespierre to reside over the Committee of Public Safety. He led the execution of over 40,000 people that were suspected of going against the revolution including King Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette.
