There will be times when they produce no electricity at all. -Wind turbines are noisy. Each one can generate the same level of noise as a family car travelling at 70 mph. -When wind turbines are being manufactured some pollution is produced. Therefore wind power does produce some pollution - ETHICAL CONCERNS -The production and use of energy has more impact on the environment than any other human activity. -Wind power is considered one part of the solution to this issue because it is one of the lowest–impact forms of electricity available to us. -Wind power raises interesting ethical questions because while the benefits of clean power are global and regional, the impacts are local. Local decisions about wind power must be made with these global issues in mind. -The main impacts of wind power are visual, auditory, and wildlife effects. The engineer will lead the students through design and construction of the wind turbines. To get started with this project we have to get the schools to select students for the project. Then we need to find a company willing to help by giving us an green engineer to teach the students. With this done we can begin to design and then build the wind turbine. Creating the Wind Turbines. The schools would save money in their electrical bills, allowing the school to spend the money in areas that are lacking like music and fine arts programs. This would also let the school save their sports programs and any other extra curricular programs and clubs. Creating energy, saves money for the school. How to get started. This would teach student the engineering and science skills, that they will need to have in the field of green energy. Transcript: Test and Evaluate "Catch the Wind" Project- Wind Turbine Develop Ideas The group had tested our creation by having practice sessions with each idea. After several runs with a successful outcome, we concluded that the specific design was an ideal contribution to the project. A simple sketch, list of measurements, and several basic ideas were used to brainstorm for this project. From past experiences, three of our group members were able to describe a well-functioning wind turbine in order to contribute to the design of our turbine.
