Transcript: Newspapers We would also like to target Instagram users. Creating an Instagram for UB Bulls would allow us to hold "competitions" to fuel giveaways. Using hashtages such as, #UBBulls, #UBBasketball Audience can post up pictures of their favorite basketball moment or players. Giveaways include shirts, floor tickets and spirit flags Not many students attended the games because they did not know about it Supporting friends were amongst the highest rated reasons to attend a game We can change this by, giving away free stuff. The Current Situation Banner Image for Facebook Event Page Created a survey and circulated it among UB students To find out their taste and preferences when it comes to basketball What fits our target audience which is Students Minimalistic Big bold fonts Straightforward UB Colors What makes us different? Tried Tested Trusted Realistic goals How are we going to communicate the message? By utilizing 4 out of the 6 main tools of advertising as taught by our Professor Marc Instagram We would like to turn to the Local radio stations on campus to help promote the games as well. Having the students call in and engaging in interactive activates with guest players or coaches. Activities such Q&A’s, raffles, and prizes can be featured on the show. This will give the students a chance to learn and get involved prior to the games. All in All Answering the 4 Main questions of Advertising We would like to create a page for UB Bulls basketball on Facebook. We feel that it would be useful to increase social media presence. Using Facebook we would create events, which will help publicize the team We can also use status updates to post updates on games and players. Answering the 4 Main questions of Advertising Give away more free stuff for everyone Have food trucks available at the end of the game Have more audience interaction Our Proposal What do we want to achieve? We would like for more UB students to attend basketball games and to raise the school spirit and attendance through our campaign To increase UB basketball’s social media presence Who is our target audience? Our target audience is UB students. Bulletin Board and Flyers Research Findings Used FOUR different advertising tools: Newspaper Internet Billboard Radio The Pitch UB Bulls Facebook Page UB Basketball Men's Twitter Account Number of followers: 1,507 (as of 17/11/14, 1:45PM) Frequency of updates - High! Overall focus - Games and scores UB Basketball Women's Twitter Account Number of followers: 563 (as of 17/11/14, 1:45PM) Frequency of updates - High! Overall focus - more team based. Facebook Page Currently shared with other sports under UB Athletics Less focus on Basketball as equal coverage is given to all sports. Our Proposal Social Media Four questions of advertising: What do we want to achieve? Who is our target audience? What makes us different? How do we want to go about doing it? Q & A Events Other suggestions UB students gave As for the Newspaper UB Spectrum has done a great job providing the students with information about their players! To ensure students are well informed about the games we suggest that the Spectrum do more coverage’s during the preseason and throughout the season. Instead of limiting it to one entire issue. Banner Image for Facebook Page What we found out Hosting spirit days On spirit days, everyone would wear something team related, such as jerseys, hoodies or shirts. On these days, we would like to have a table in the Student Union and other common areas, handing out flyers or team schedules. Giveaways, lucky draws. Radio

I still stuck it out anyways and made many friendships that will last a lifetime. Thanks to everyone for putting up with me these past few days and accepting me into the big family we call UB!
