Prezi A look at some of the free presentation software out there Difficult to use for first timers Needs better support for doing more than one thing on a slide at once It allows you to easily edit, can be sent to others and edited with ease Can get tedious after one or two presentations It offers a wide array of different themes to choose from, there are 40+ http://prezi.com/learn/ Compatible with PowerPoint Some of its image suggestions are ridiculous and do not fit the presentation at all Graphics are equal to, if not greater than PowerPoint http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2395022,00.asp Prezi itself is very fun to learn how to use, but I feel it just leaves you too limited. The fact it has no spell check is also another thing that makes me question myself when typing. Overall I would recommend trying it out though. Their software allows you to present real time information, stocks, etc… assuming you have internet access Their presentation service is free for a month, after that you must pay VisualBee http://www.macworld.com/product/412962/apple_keynote_09.html Disadvantages Conclusion Sliderocket seems like just another rip off of PowerPoint and the fact you are highly limited with the free version is a huge minus, I would not use it. Quite a bit of its content is the same thing as PowerPoint The free version is much more limited in comparison to the premium one You cannot have a clip of audio last for more than one slide Doesn't look as professional as PowerPoint Is a Mac presentation software Advantage References You cannot use your own images for the background of a Prezi Disavdantages Advantage Disadvantage SlideRocket Has troubles presenting pictures as well as PowerPoint http://www.apple.com/iwork/keynote/ It can be presented from your iPhone, which is incredibly innovative It allows you to import your old PowerPoint files into their presentation maker Far more interesting than a powerpoint, it moves around and is a visual delight Keynote Options for printing are limited You can also access this from your iPhone or iPad Provides you with comprehensive tutorials Presentation Software Inserts images you want automatically to fit the slide in the most effective way possible You have to pay for the better features Is accessible from PowerPoint itself, its just a plug-in Disadvantage So the software in here that I would definitely use is Keynote and I would also like to give VisualBee a try and see if it makes my old presentations nicer. Transitions are very smooth and can be done easily and beautifully Advantages They make you pay them every month if you want their full service. Its $24
