It's like falling in and out of love." "If I wait for an inspiring thought, I'll never get started. So I go straight to the project I've been working on and plunge right in." "The rhythm of the language takes me inside the skin of the main character." Ghery. This book explores his career choices, family life and experiences that influenced his exceptionally unique buildings. Awards Inspired by her daughters, Greenberg's first book, A Series in Between, was published in 1981 by Laurel-Leaf Books. Inspired by art and her parent's personal library, Jan Greenberg has been writing since age ten. #1 Professional Accomplishments #3 (cc) photo by jimmyharris on Flickr Chuck Close, Up Close Here are Her Gems The Sculptor's Eye: Looking at American Art Notable Books Christo and Jeanne-Claude Through the Gates Beyond Frank O. Choral Reading to help students feel the flow and personality in poetry along with involving them in the book. Adventurous students could read the non-English passages. Book talks to discuss the different types of poetry or different ekphrastic poems. Images from Ballet for Martha being shown while the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra played Appalachian Spring. Accomplishments Drawn together by a common love for art, Jan Greenberg has co-written over eleven books with Sandra Jordan. Collectively, these books, along with her own, have won over fifteen awrds. Side By Side Her parents library and continuous reading as a child instilled a life long love of reading, which encouraged her to write her own books. (cc) photo by Metro Centric on Flickr The Painter's Eye: Learning to Look at Contemporary Art Inspiration An anthology of ekphrastic poetry collected from artists around the world. This book includes poetry in its original text along with an English translation. Multiple styles of art and poetry are included in this collection to provide a rounded perspective and wide appeal. The introduction of Side by Side provides a brief history and guide to ekphrastic poetry. Side by Side could be used in the classroom not only to introduce different styles of poetry, but also different cultures. The popularity of Greenberg's books has provided the opportunity to travel around the world for book talks and confrences. She says these travels help her reconnect with the world and her writing. Greenberg graduated with a bachelors degree in English and an art minor from Washington University. In addition, she now has a Masters in Education from Webser University. #2 Greenberg was born in St. Luis, Missouri and now lives there with her husband. The cube idea could also be applied to learning about Frank O. Ghery. Quilts: This book discusses influences on Ghery's life and career. Instruct the studetns to create a quilt cube reflecting thier influences and career choice. Report and informational books on a historical figure. Narrated equally by text and illustrations, Ballet for Martha describes the development of Appalachian Spring. This includes all people involved with the production. It also gives an intimate view of Martha Grahm, author, choreographer and lead dancer of this production. Andy Warhol: Prince of Pop Constant contact with a wide variety of art and artists continues to inspire Greenberg and motivates her to write books and share art with young readers. Side by side All of the gifts and sweets available at the fair have been chosen according to what has been found as favorable by consumers. For example, Twenty-five percent of adults purchased flowers or plants as gifts for Valentine's Day 2013; of those, 64% were men and 36% were women. (eNation National On-Line Research, Synovate, 2013.) Kantar World Panel's statistics also showed an upward trend for flower buying, Sales of roses and Valentine's Day blooms soaring in stores in Yorkshire (up 36%) – the highest anywhere in the country. Flowers, chocolate and a romantic meal were the top three gifts at this time of year (Allen 2012). Mintel (2013) states that dining out places second in the top five trends in consumer spending priorities Our company hosts events for annual festivities such as Christmas, New Year’s Eve, Diwali and Valentines for people on a budget. We offer the traditional experience with lower prices. Today we will be focusing on a valentines day fair. How are we cheaper? What do we offer? Side by side References Brits are beginning to cut back on spending not excluding celebrations such as Valentine's Day and so people are choosing a night in over an expensive night out (Thomas 2013). Side-By-Side How dose it work? What improvements or refinements have been made since the device was developed? What part of technology play in developing this device? How and when did the device develope? By: Brianna Syrenne Background of scientist or inventor? I believe that John "Doogie" Howell invented the side-by-side. He is a resident DIY crazy man!! A man invented the side-by-side, and the side-by-side was created in the 1960's. The guy that made the side-by-side, he got the idea from using it in a Honda CRX and was trading up. Funny question to ask... it works like this. To start a side-by-side you either have to turn the key and hold the break down or you can just start it with just a key. You can't really go fast with side-by-sides. You can only have the number people to how many seats you have in your side-by-side. They were made bigger, to fit more people, made to go faster. some side-by-sides are made to pull trailers behind them.
