Transcript: Undara by Ethan Daley information on place. Undara lava tubes Location: Mount Surprise information of Undara. what is a geologist? A Geologist is a person who does research on rocks, how they are formed, and how they became the way they are now. what is a geologist? What dream time or myths are there? There are no stories on Undara, but stone artefacts and scarred trees were found at Undara and Etheridge Shire. Undara is also an aboriginal word that means long way dream time stories or myths What rocks are at Undara? There are metamorphic and igneous rocks at Undara. Specifically Basalt and Corundum which is a type of sapphire. rocks at Undara extra information The total size of the Undara lava tubes is 615km squared. Semi-evergreen vine thicket grows in the moist, sheltered entrances to some of the lava caves. The roofs of some tubes collapsed, creating ideal conditions for dry rainforest to grow and wildlife to shelter. Rock-wallabies, insectivorous bats and owls roost here in the cool. Birds shelter in the fruit-filled canopy and predators lurk in the tumbled basalt terrain to complete the food chain. extra information on Undara How old is Undara? Undara is around 190,000 years old. Below is a timescale of Undara. age of Undara conclusion My conclusion is that Undara is a cave covered with igneous and metamorphic rocks, which was created by a shield volcano that is no longer active. The Undara Lava Tubes were formed when 23km cubed of lava from one of the many volcanoes spilled out over the land and traveled along a riverbed. The tubes were formed when the outer layer formed a crust which protected the still-molten lava and continued to flow as though it was in a tube or a pipe. It is believed that the entire length of 160km is the longest lava flow from any single volcano on earth. It is estimated that the whole process took between 2-3 weeks with the lava flowing at a rate of around 500m/h. The process that occurred was cooling, and the processes that are probably happening now is weathering and erosion. conclusion

Great with students, workers, family, etc. For example: With games like Jeopardy and Family Feud, players can pick practically any answers. The person who is running the game will have to have all of the answers in order to determine if players are correct or not. However, with a game like Who Wants to be a Millionaire, the players only have a choice between answers, A, B, C, or D. Therefore, when the player decides their answer, the person running the game clicks it, and the game will tell them whether they are right or wrong.

Some negative effects are we have polluted the abyssal zone. We can't get down far enough to clean the abyssal zone. Some positive effects we have on the abyssal zone are researching the animals down in the abyssal zone and we can find out if they could live in shallower water of it they have to live in deep water. Deep-Sea Angelfish (Abyssal Zone) For Example like these Animals : Depth : (In the Benthic Zone) Temperature : Squid Seaweed There are a lot of animals in the Benthic Zone that have adapted to have no light from the sun but instead to have their own glowing light which is incredible for them to have in their animal body but the point is that yes, their is animals in the Benthic Zone who have adapted to have no sunlight. Transcript: My hypothesis If you drink water then your heart rate will be closer to normal Background Research In the research conducted for this experiment Gatorade seemed to be the better drink to consume before an activity. Gatorade keeps you hydrated longer then water in intense workouts and activities. Gatorade was created as an athletic drink. It was an invention that was created in a lab in 1965 within the University of Florida. Some of the ingredients in Gatorade are potassium and sodium. Potassium acts as an electrolyte. Too much potassium however can lead to a disease called Hyperkalemia or excess amount of potassium in the blood stream. Sodium helps muscles contract properly and leads to a healthy blood pressure. However most foods are already high in sodium so if you do not exercise then you are at risk of health conditions like elevated blood pressure, stroke, and heart disease increase. Materials Materials- 2 clean cups per participant pre-measured/marked containers to hold 250mL of liquid metric measuring cup bottled water (same brand) (2250mL total needed, divided) Lemon-Lime Perform 02 Gatorade (same flavor/type) (2250mL total needed, divided) open space for activity space/chair for rest area willing participants for experiment Procedure Gather people and materials Prepare the water and Lemon-Lime Gatorade in cups (250 ml) Have participant rest for 15 minutes in a chair Have participant take pulse rate from the neck for 15 seconds Have participant jog in place for 2 minutes without any liquid Have participant take pulse rate for 15 seconds Rest for another 15 minutes in a chair Have participant drink water (250ml) Rest in chair for another 15 minutes Jog in place for 2 minutes Take pulse for 15 seconds Rest for 15 minutes Have participant drink Lemon-Lime Gatorade (250 ml) Rest for 15 minutes Jog in place for 2 minutes Take pulse for 15 seconds Repeat steps 1-16 for each participant two more times on two different days for a total of three trials per participant Record all data Data Table The data from this experiment helps us better understand the topic of weather water is better to drink rather than Gatorade before an activity. In the research conducted Gatorade seemed to be the better option for the activity. But the results show that water was better for the activity. The hypothesis of the experiment was that water was better than Gatorade for keeping your pulse rate down. According to this data in this experiment you should drink water rather than Gatorade. The impact of these results supports water in the fact that good for keeping your pulse rate down. It does not support Gatorade in keeping your pulse rate down. It could affect the marketing of both. In a positive way for water and negative for Gatorade. People might start to use water more than Gatorade which is healthier. The area of interaction for this experiment is Health and Social education. The reason for this Area of Interaction is that it is trying to figure out which drink is healthier for you so you can do physical activities with friends longer. If somebody was to do the exact same experiment then they might get completely different results or about the same data. The reason I say that is because if you get people that are used to drinking Gatorade before activities their body is used to it therefore their pulse rate may be lower than in my experiment. The reason being that the people I tested used both Gatorade and water regularly but water a little bit more frequently. This might have been a factor in my experiment as to why when the participants used water their pulse rate was always lower then when they used Gatorade. Which will you choose? I would like to thank a few people personally for their time. One is the Kidd family for letting me test them in the experiment. As well as my mother who let me use her computer when the one in our house crashed. finally I would like to thank my sister for letting me test her with this experiment. And my dad for letting me take over the computer when he had school work to do. Implications and Conclusions
