Transcript: The Alps are one of the great mountain range systems of both Europe and the world. It took hundreds of millions of years for the Alps to form as the African and Eurasian tectonic plates collided. Covering around 750 miles (1,200 kms), at 15,774 ft (4,808 meters) it is also the highest mountain in western Europe. They range across eight countries from Austria and Slovenia in the east, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Germany and France to the west, and Italy and Monaco to the south. Seine River, river of France. It rises 18 miles (30 kilometres) northwest of Dijon and flows in a northwesterly direction through Paris. The river is 485 miles (780 kilometres) long and with an area of about 30,400 square miles (78,700 square kilometres). It is one of Europe’s great historic rivers, and its drainage network carries most of the French inland waterway traffic. The Atlantic Ocean sits in an S-shaped basin that runs in a north-south direction, bounded by Europe and Africa on the east and by North and South America on the west. The Atlantic is divided into the North and South sections by the Equator and is connected to the larger Pacific Ocean via the Arctic Ocean to the north. Compared to the beginning of the year my writing has improved greatly. Unlike my second paragraph i had added less detail and less transitions. A flaw that I noticed that I need to work on more is organization. Through out the year I think that my skills have changed for the better after writing count less paragraphs and reading various novels Love: God loves us and everyone living or nonliving things he has created. Love is our way of showing to affection to things. Without Love we are unable to contrast other emotions, to know hate, pain, sadness, abandonment, without love you take these others things for granted because if you only feel pain. Cain was a farmer. He grew vegetables and grains. Abel was a shepherd who looked afterthe family's herds. One day Adam and Eve had told them to sacrifice a lamb so that they could thank God for everything that he has done for them. Cain had given God his extra straw while Abel gave his best lamb. God had chosen Abel's offering over Cain's. Cain had become jealous of his brother, Abel because God had chose his sacrifice instead of his own. To gain he revenge Cain had plotted to kill his brother when they were both alone. Although he had succeeded, there were consequences The Alps: The Seine River: By: Gabby S My studies in religion have helped me grow closer to my faith and God by knowing the 3 following things Forgiveness, Love, and Mercy. Socials: Current Events Our Moto: Socials At 11:30 local time (10:30 GMT) on Wednesday 7 January, a black Citroen C3 drove up to the Charlie Hebdo building in Rue Nicolas-Appert. Two masked gunmen, dressed in black and armed with Kalashnikov assault rifles got out and approached the offices. They burst into number 6, Rue Nicolas-Appert, before realising they had the wrong address. They then moved down the street to number 10 - where the Charlie Hebdo offices are on the second floor. Once inside, the men now known to be brothers Cherif and Said Kouachi asked maintenance staff in reception where the magazine's offices were, before shooting dead caretaker Frederic Boisseau. One of the magazine's cartoonists, Corinne Rey, described how she had just returned to the building after picking up her daughter from day care when the gunmen threatened her, forcing her to enter the code for the keypad entry to the newsroom on the second floor. The men opened fire and killed the editor's police bodyguard, Franck Brinsolaro, before asking for editor Stephane Charbonnier, known as Charb, and other four cartoonists by name and killing them, along with three other editorial staff and a guest attending the meeting. Police, alerted to a shooting incident, arrived at the scene as the gunmen were leaving the building. Police, alerted to a shooting incident, arrived at the scene as the gunmen were leaving the building. The black Citroen is thought to have driven south down the Boulevard Richard Lenoir, before doubling back on the northern carriageway. The car stopped and video footage shows the gunmen getting out of the vehicle and shooting police officer Ahmed Merabet who is on a nearby pavement. One of the attackers then walked up to the injured officer on the pavement and shot him dead at close range. The gunman returned to the car and drove away with his accomplice. The getaway car was found abandoned after apparently crashing into another vehicle about 3km (1.8 miles) north of the Charlie Hebdo offices. The attackers then hijacked another car, a grey Renault Clio, and disappeared. At about 08:45 local time the following day (Thursday 8 January), as police continued their search for the Charlie Hebdo attack suspects, a lone gunman shot two people in the southern Paris suburb of Montrouge. The gunman, armed with a machine-gun and a pistol, shot dead a policewoman and injured a man before

Great with students, workers, family, etc. For example: With games like Jeopardy and Family Feud, players can pick practically any answers. The person who is running the game will have to have all of the answers in order to determine if players are correct or not. However, with a game like Who Wants to be a Millionaire, the players only have a choice between answers, A, B, C, or D. Therefore, when the player decides their answer, the person running the game clicks it, and the game will tell them whether they are right or wrong.

Transcript: 1. Bible. We believe that the Bible is the Word of God; without error as originally written. Its content has been preserved by Him, and is the final authority in all matters of doctrine and faith-above all human authority. 2. God. We believe there is no God but one: the infinite Designer, Creator, and Sustainer of all existence in this or any universe from eternity past to eternity future. God’s nature is triune-three perfect and eternal persons; Father, Son, and Holy Spirit who are one, in being as well as in purpose. 3. Law. We believe God is the source of all moral and natural law. The highest and all-encompassing law, given to man, is to love the one true God above all else. 4. Man. We believe that man is a created, finite being; designed in the image of God, with the ability to reason, make choices, and have relationships. Man was created for the purpose of bringing glory to God, but since the day man first rebelled against God’s law, all mankind has been sinful by nature, and has earned the penalty of death and eternal separation from God. The term Evangelicalism is a wide-reaching definitional "canopy" that covers a diverse number of Protestant groups. The term originates in the Greek word evangelion, meaning "the good news" or more commonly, the gospel. During the Reformation, Martin Luther adapted the term, dubbing his breakaway movement the evangelische kirke or "evangelical church“. A name still generally applied to the Lutheran Church in Germany. In the English-speaking world, however, the modern usage usually connotes the religious movements and denominations which sprung forth from a series of revivals that swept the North Atlantic Anglo-American world in the eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries. Evangelicalism Beliefs Summary History/Origin 5. Jesus. We believe that God, the Son, entered the world as a man to die on the cross on our behalf; a sinless sacrifice in full payment of all our sin-both past and future-satisfying the demand of God’s perfect justice. Jesus rose from the grave; authenticating His divine identity, as our living Prophet, Priest, and King. 6. Forgiveness. Based upon the penalty paid at the cross, we believe that the forgiveness of sins is granted by grace alone to those who will receive it by faith alone. It must be received as an utterly undeserved gift or it cannot be received at all; because all the credit and glory are Christ’s alone. 7. Repentance. We turn (repent) from self-reliance for our salvation, to trusting alone in the completed work of Jesus upon the cross to purchase the perfect pardon of all our sin, forever. 8. Works. We believe in doing good works in grateful response to our pardon, not to cause it. From our faith, acts of response will flow such as: obedience, compassion, baptism, communion, prayer, etc. 9. Inheritance. As believers, we are Christ’s true church, and have consequently received many other spiritual blessings, including: reconciliation and friendship with a Holy God, the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, adoption as children of God into His family, and eternal life now and in His kingdom. 10. Deception. We also acknowledge the existence of the great counterfeiter of prophecy, miracles, emotions, and feelings: Satan. Therefore, we take seriously God’s command to test all these things according to scripture. The Evangelical movement began in the 1730s in the UK as a massive revival of religion through which the whole of British life was impacted and many hundreds of thousands of people came to Christ from nominal membership of the churches, especially the Anglican Church (alongside the Anglican Church even then there were the Catholics, and the 'Free Churches' founded after the Reformation in the late 1600s and early 1700s - mainly the Baptists, Congregationalists, Presbyterians and Quakers). The Revival movement lasted fifty years until the end of the eighteenth century and spread to America where it was welcomed by similar leaders who had already experienced something similar (notably Jonathan Edwards, who in turn influenced British thinking). It became hugely influential on American life. Evangelical views on the Bible actually tolerate quite a wide range of hermeneutical practice far more than evangelicals used to think. For instance, in the olden days if a scholar was an evangelical with a high view of scripture then you could guess where he/she would come down on various historical-critical issues (e.g., Moses wrote most of the Pentateuch, Isaiah wrote Isaiah, biblical histories are historically accurate). Evangelicalism, or the Evangelical Movement, represents a potent force in modern “Christendom”. A full third of those who would profess Christ in the world fall under the Evangelical umbrella, and most such persons live outside of North America and Europe. As described below, it is often difficult to pin down a specific definition of evangelicalism, but in general, evangelicalism represents a loosely confederated movement of

Transcript: My journey through gr.8 The end In the beginning of grade 8 I was not so good as a writer. I hardly knew the eight parts of speech and I was terrible at grammar. But then the year went by and with the help of my English teacher I learned many things. Going to English made a big difference in my grammar and writing, but I also learned other important things. One of them was sentence structure. I believe that this made a difference in my writing through out the year. This strategy not only taught me how to write properly, but it also made my writing more understandable and clear. persuasive S.a. My writing development through gr.8 love Why more should be done about animal and plant extinction? Did you know that every 20 minutes an animal is lead to extinction? Less than 2 million species are explained to us and scientist estimate about 40 million animals on earth today. I believe that together we can stop global waning and stop species from dying out. The reason why we need plants and animals is for food, cures to disease, etc. Why should we destroy nature’s beauty and what it has to offer us? Animals should’t be treated so brutally, it’s cruel to cut down their homes and suffer from pollution. What should be done is companies should be stopped from cutting down trees and rain forests. Why we need plants and animals? We need animals and plants to survive because they provide food, air, cures for sickness and diseases, and plenty more. It takes twenty two trees to make oxygen for just one person. If we keep cutting down trees we arn’t going to have enough air for everyone. As I said earlier there are about 40 million animals on earth and we know less than 2 million. Hundreds of animals are dying each day and plants are dying that we don’t even know existed. It’s possible that they could have a cure to leukemia or other diseases. They both play a big role in our environment. For example bees help pollinate 70% of all crops on earth, if bees were all dead then many of the plants die because this process is gone. That means 70% of the world is dead too. This is why we need them in our life. The world is beautiful we should’t kill it Another reason why we should do more for animal and plant extinction is because the world is really amazing and beautiful. We may not know about animals that are very rare and special. Something really unique should be cherished and appreciated more. If we don’t do something about this we could ruin it for the next generation and our kids or other peoples kids. They might not even get the chance to see animals such as Rhinoceros, leopards, pandas, tigers, bald eagles, and polar bears. One way we can easily help is by recycling. By doing this we are saving trees and animals homes. Aluminum cans that are recycled are reused as new cans in less than 60 days. We use over 80 billion aluminum cans every year which means a lot can be recycled each year. Animals don’t deserve this Animals and plants do their share for us we should’t be torturing them. We don’t need to kill animals for fashion clothes because we have different resources to go to. Taking animal and plant habitats is one of the main reason why they are endangered. All animals depend on water, food, and shelter. If they don’t have those essentials they wouldn’t be alive. Animals that are killed for fashion are treated brutally and are slaughtered. Over 50 million animals are killed for the use of fashion clothing each year. Animals are killed by gassing, electrocution, etc. People kill 100 chinchillas just for 1 fur coat. This is animal cruelty because animals are dyeing and becoming extinct for the wrong purposes. Conclusion There should be more done about animal and plant extinction because we need them to survive, the world is precious and has a lot to offer us also we should’t ruin it for others. And because we should’t be cruel to animals. September-January self assessment My Writing progress through gr.8 Christian Education February-April self assessment My Current Event Going to CE class made me realize how important it is to practice your faith. In CE class we read the bible and I have learned many of the stories like David and Goliath, Moses and the ten commandments, Isaac and Rebekah and more. Listening to these stories made me want to be like them and better my faith. Going to class made me closer to God because it has encouraged me to pray on my own time and go to mass every Sunday. Christian Education

Transcript: Madi, Raegan, Payton, Sierra Chapter 3: Living Largely, The Doctrine of Creation Many people believe higher education is the pathway to higher paying jobs. Many people in America believe that college education is essentially the means to social and economic mobility. Humans are made to do a variety of tasks, some requires a college education and others do not. Therefore, college is not for everyone. Christian colleges do more than just prepare students for successful careers; they also equip you to critique and transform your profession. It discusses the central message of the creation story and how it applies to our lives at a christian college with 4 key implications for education. Chapter 3 Outline Outline God, our Creator, expresses himself in all that He has made, and what He made reveals and declares important things about HIm. For example, Adam was given the task of naming the animals to reflect his knowledge and understanding of the animals the same way God knows and understands them. To study the created world, therefore, is to study the works of Christ. Christians begin the educational process with understanding that the universe is God's creation, so learning new subjects is about more than just acquiring information -- it's a way to know Christ better and more deeply love him. Everything exists to make the greatness of Christ more known!! 1. We Know God Better by Studying His Creation Part 1 Subtopic 1 PICTURES Christian's generalize the Adam and Eve story, but don't stop to ask "what would their lives look like if they had not sinned?" God gave tremendous responsibilities to Adam and Eve to care over His creation. God develops His kingdom vs sitting on His throne. Culture is what we make of the world Christians should appreciate this fallen world because God created it A purpose of a college education is to equip us to cultivate God's creation more lovingly We are called to care for and develop God's creation Part 2 * All truth is God’s truth, wherever it may be found * God created all that exist and called it good, all aspects of creation are worth studying. * Common grace: God has liberally sprinkled his grace over all creation, and the effects of God’s grace remain even after the fall. * Because God’s common grace is spread throughout the world, we can expect to find new truths in all sorts of unlikely places. * The Christian college does not insulate students from the ideas of non-Christian scholars, but seeks to understand those ideas within a larger Christian framework. The Study of Creation Includes the Insights of Non-believers Part 3 * Intellect & emotion combined helps us experience God’s creation. * God delights in his creation and since we are created in his image, he expects humans to have the same experience. * Imago dei means “the image of God” and since humans are created “to be like God”, this means we are created to comprehend, to ponder and delight with creation like God does. * When a person enjoys fishing in a mountain stream, it shows what imago dei means and brings joy to God. * Besides enjoying the natural world that God created, one also experience happiness by partaking in human culture. *Most secular colleges see education in an instrumental way where a degree translates to a better job and salary. *A Christian college education gives students a deeper intrinsic understanding of God’s creation by studying different subjects regardless of the perks a student might receive as a result of the degree. *God desires humans “to live largely” and engage with His creation. * As “image bearers” of God, humans are expected to “sub-create”. * By studying a subject in college, one’s knowledge increases and as a result students are able to mirror God in a more profound way while finding additional reasons to adore Him. We Glorify God by Taking Delight in his Creation Part 4 We learned that our education is far deeper than we imagined. The Christian perspective to education is something that is very new to me. We learned that Christian's should value their education on a deeper level than we have been. Understanding God's creation and what He has done for us is far greater than any minor struggles we face during college. WHat We Learned: What we Learned

Now you can make any subject more engaging and memorable
