Things such as when Baba never had lied then maybe Hassan would have been alive since possibly could have been a family together. - Baba is very hard on Amir which makes Amir feel unloved and hated. However, during some parts of the novel Baba displays unusual affection towards Amir. -Baba never missed any of Hassan's birthdays - Baba will always give Hassan a gift - Baba helped Hassan fix his lip with surgery -To redeem himself to Baba, Amir thinks he must win the kite-tournament and bring Baba the losing kite, both of which are inciting incidents that set the rest of the novel in motion. -Amir’s journey to Kabul to find Sohrab and his confrontation with Assef. Redemption -Baba betrayed everyone because he never told Hassan and Ali that they were brothers -Baba betrayed Ali by having an affair with his wife -Amir betrayed Hassan by treating him wrong -Baba betrayed Amir by giving Hassan more attention -Amir betrays Hassan is when he chooses not to help Hassan because he wanted to show his father that he had captured the kite in the competition. -Hassan has been cornered by Assef, who is sexually assaulting him; Amir has an opportunity to rescue Hassan, but he doesn't.
