Cinco De Mayo
Cinco De Mayo is a day for Mexicans to celebrate their victory over France. They won the battle on May 5, 1862 and still celebrate with parades and festivals.

Day of the Virgin of Guadalupe
A man named Juan Diego met the Virgin Mary twice in Mexico City. Mary had asked Juan if he could build a church on Tepeyac Hill . Juan asked the Bishop and after some convincing the Bishop agreed. Now people celebrate this day in honor of Mary.

Art is a big part of the Mexican culture, it is very colorful and vibrant. The Mayans and Aztecs were the first to start the beautiful artwork by making stone sculptures of humans and animals. They also made skulls and mythology based art. As the art continued, people started focusing on things like political and social corruptness. Nowadays Mexican art is very important to their culture and is still going on today.
