Transcript of Stargirl Presentation
By Zack Bethke Stargirl is an interesting book. It starts out when Stargirl Caraway gets enrolled in Mica Area High School. She is...ummm... unusual. She will always be cheery. She never gets mad. She will bring her pet rat to school. You find out later in the book that the rat's name is Cinnamon. Here is a summary to get you started Let's meet some Characters Stargirl:
Who the story is mainly about. What she does plays a big role in the book.On people's birthdays she would sing them the song "Happy Birthday" and play her ukulele. Leo:
This is the narrator of the story. Leo is an average ordinary high school student just like the rest of us. But as soon as Stargirl comes into play, his life will dramatically change. Leo eventually falls for Stargirl, and that's when bad things start to happen.
Archie is a local retired paleontologist. As a carrer he collected fossilized skeletons for museams. He runs a weekend school at his house for just about everything, arhaeology-wise. He is mentioned in a lot of the chapters. Also, he usually talks with his friend Senior Saguaro. The story is told by Leo Borlock. This is a story ,in my mind, How being yourself combined with blending in can be a healty school life This Book takes place in the fictional city of Mica, Arizona. Favorite Part:
The book Stargirl was a great book. But in actuality, I cannot say that I have a favorite part. But if I had to choose a favorite part, it would be when Stargirl tried to be normal. Changed her name to her given name Susan. She thought that if she tried to be normal for a change she would get her friends back. I have a belief that Mica should be around the Gila River. Critique:
This book is perfect for a person who is going through some hard times fitting in. All you have to do is be yourself, but don't take it too far. Overall I give this book a rating of 5 Golden Stars, and "two tumbs up". So, Jerry Spinelli would be proud to receive this rating. This is Senior Saguaro waving "Hola". Mica, Arizona??
