Dave Grohl;
A Music Legend Early
Drumming Dave played drums for various bands when he was younger.But the band that got the most famous of those was Scream, which he played in when he was only 17. Nirvana After Scream,Dave joined
a band with Kurt Cobain
Kris Novaselic.
This band was called Nirvana and grew very successful. The album Nevermind launched them
into worldwide stardom. The Beginning of Foo Fighters With Kurt Cobain's death, Nirvana
was finished but Dave's songwriting
and musical talent was not. He
scheduled recording time and
recorded an album called Pocketwatch
and the first Foo Fighters album with
the single,"This is a Call."
Foo Fighters Success
Foo Fighters were mainly influenced by Dave's songwriting, but to play live he needed other bandmates to play instruments. He brought in Nate Mendel(bass), Taylor Hawkins (drums), and Chris Shiflet (lead guitar and backing vocals). Foo Fighters Success Foo Fighters have released six albums, an acoustic cd,and are working on their 7th album. They also released a greatest hits cd with two new songs on it in 2009. Foo Fighters have won six grammy awards, and have been acclaimed as one of the most influencial bands of the 1990's and the 2000's. Dave's Side Projects Projects with Josh Homme Grohl did all the drumtracks for Queens of
Stone Age's "Songs for
the Deaf" album. Josh
Homme sings for the
band. Josh and Dave are
good friends and often help each other with writing music. Dave Grohl, Josh Homme, and Led-Zeppelin's own John Paul Jones released the self titled album "Them Crooked Vultures." Another album is planned to come in further years. Jack Black Dave Grohl played a devil in one of Tenacious D's music videos. He also played drums for the debut album of Tenacious D, in which Jack Black is the singer. Dave and Jack joined forces for the side project "Probot" which involved many different singers including Lemmy from Motorhead. Nine Inch Nails In 2004 Dave played drums on several tracks on the album "With Teeth" by Nine inch Nails. Slash Slash called upon Dave Grohl to help him with the drum track "Watch this" on Slah's solo album. DAVE GROHL MUSIC
