Nelson Mandela and rugby
Mandela understood how crucial sport would be in uniting South Africa. He used rugby to completely unify South Africa as a whole. This idea worked and it showed at the 1995 Rugby World Cup when every person their watched the South African Springboks win.
Nelson Mandela did almost any thing to make the world right.
Nelson had a hard life many of his close friends and family died
This is what Nelson said after getting out of jail.
"I went for a long holiday for 27 years," Nelson Mandela once said of his years in prison.
It was another example of the dry, razor-sharp and often self-deprecating humor for which South Africa's first black president was famous.
The prison years ended in a cottage he had to himself in the garden of a jail near Cape Town then known as Victor Verster - with TV, radio, newspapers, a swimming pool and any visitors he wanted.
But he was still in prison. And the greatest number of years that he was in prison - 18 out of 27 - were spent on Robbin Island, where the contrast could not have been greater.''
