This is all about McDonalds It began in 1940. . . Dick and brother Mac McDonald opened McDonald's Bar-B-Que restaurant in San Bernardino, California. It started out as a drive in with car hops. In 1948, the McDonald's Bar-B-Que was shut down for three months for improvements on the building. After that period, the name was shortened to just McDonald's. For a while, their menu only consisted of hamburgers, cheeseburgers, potatoe chips, pie, coffee, milk, and soft drinks. In 1949, french
fries replace potato chips
and they become World
Famous. The Triple Thick
Milkshake also appears on
the menu. Ronald McDonald appears in his first national television commercial in 1966. The Big Mac appears on the national menu in 1968. McDonalds introduces its famous breakfast in 1975. Four years later, the Happy Meal enchants obese kids around the world. McDonald's now operates over 31,000 resteraunts worldwide, with 1.5 million employees. Thats how many McDonalds there are in the U.S Did you know that there are over 180 seseame seeds on a BigMac bun? Ray Kroc had a degree in Hamburgerology. Ray Kroc, was facinated by
McDonalds. He realized the
potential for business so he
opened up the very second
McDonalds in Des Plaines,
Illinois in 1955. 100 Millionth burger sold
in 1958. One year later, the 100th
restautant openes in Fond
Du Lac, Wisconsin. McDonalds becomes the first fast food restaurant with indoor seating in 1962. Four years after the 100th restaurant opened,
400 more became a part of the restaurant force. 1967 is the year McDonalds goes international. Restaurants open in Canada and Pierto Rico in 1967.
Today there are restaurants in over 117 countries around the world. Ronald McDonald makes friends in 1971, introducting the Hamburglar, Grimace, Mayor McCheese, Captain Crook, and the Big Mac. McDonalds opens a website, adapting to the technological world in 1996 This is what is currently on the website.
