Back in 1889 it was built for the world fair
The Eiffel Tower was the tallest man made structure in the world for 41 years.

The Making Of The Eiffel Tower
The Eiffel Tower weighs 10,000 tons and is made of iron
The Tower was made in 2 years, 2 months, and 5 days
Intended for Barcelona, Spain, but the project was rejected
The person in charge of the towers construction, was Gustave Eiffel.
Gustave began constructing with metal after he graduated from college.
How many tons does the Eiffel Tower weigh?
When the chief constructor of the Statue of Liberty died, Gustave was his replacement.
Today the tower is used for radio broadcasts and television.
According to factslides.com,the tower was almost destroyed, but was saved and used as a giant radio antenna.
Franz Reichelt,an inventor,died because he jumped off the Eiffel Tower to test a parachute of his design.
Temperature affects the height of the Tower by 6 inches.
The Chrysler building passed the Eiffel Tower in height.
The pillars of the Tower face north,south,east, and west.
History.com says there are approximately 410 feet between each pillar.
Who built the Eiffel Tower?
These pillars are made of iron, as well as the rest of the Tower.
Victor Lustig, con artisit, "sold" the Eiffel Tower to a scrap meal dealer.
In world war two,Hitler was in Paris,so the french people cut the lift cables on the Tower so Hitler had to use the 1,665 stairs to reach the top of the tower.
A lady named Erika La Tour Eiffel "married" the Eiffel Tower in 2007.

We chose this because we love the structure of the tower and wanted to know more about the Eiffel Tower.
