DIY oil based body scrub
Sugar Exfoliants
Alternative Exfoliants
Baking Soda
Shredded Loofa
5-10 drops choice fragrance/essential oil or extract:
lavender
vanilla
citrus
peppermint
etc
Optional Ingredients
1/2 tsp choice melted moisturizer:
shea butter
cocoa butter
goat milk
coconut milk
etc
somewhat coarser than most other salts, giving better exfoliation
salt contains many natural minerals that are beneficial to the skin
magnesium:
fluid retainer - slows skin aging
stress combatant
calcium:
increases circulation
strengthens bones and nails
potassium:
energizes body
balances skin moisture
bromide:
eases muscle stiffness
sodium:
balances lymphatic fluids - benefits immune system
1 cup choice salt:
fine dead sea salt
fine epsom salt
fine regular table salt
etc
why epsom salt?

very inexpensive alternative
will exfoliate skin when put in scrub
helps with circulation
however, because of the way that regular salt is processed, all the beneficial minerals that it once had (like the sea salts) are gone
