Often Abbreviations are used to signify amounts Abbreviations for Measurements Teaspoon = tsp or t.

Quart = qt
Pound = lb
Ounce = oz One half = 1/2
One fourth = 1/4
A quarter = 1/4
One third = 1/3
Two thirds = 2/3
