Transcript of Korean War

Korean War Was just another episode in the ongoing Cold War between the USA and The USSR Started in 1950 and ended in 1953 The 'Domino theory' US was trying to stop Communism for the Koreans. Truman Doctrine lead to the driving of Communist out of North Korea.
The Trueman Doctrine had been one of 'containment'- stopping the Communists gaining any more territory Truman realised the USA was in a competition for world domination with the USSR. By supporting South Korea, America was able to fight Communism without directly attacking Russia In 1950 Syngman Rhee said he was going to attack North Korea. It was a good enough excuse- The North Koreans invaded South Korea which started the actual fighting. Why did it start? The financial cost of the Korean war for the US was about $403 billion President Harry S. Truman was the US president at the beginning and then Dwight D. Eisenhower. Weapons Tanks

and different kinds of hand guns. How the war ended. United stated objective of stopping communist incursion into the Republic Of Korea and reestablished the border. The resoulution was an armistice signed on July 27, 1953. Dwight D. Eisenhower. Harry S. Truman
