The Industrial Revolution
My Reasoning
While the Industrial Revolution had both positive and negative effects on society and the economy, the positive effects outweighed the negative. There are three main reasons why I believe the Industrial Revolution has had many positive effects ;population growth, modernization and visual arts.
Population growth
Modernization
In Japan, they began to modernize. During the late 1900 Japan invested in developing infrastructure, regulatory systems, and communication systems. Because of those investments it lead to the development of modern roads, laying railroad, telegraph lines, a modern postal system, a banking system, a financing infrastructure, and a modernized school system.
Visual arts
The Industrial Revolution also included visual arts! Many new styles were developed but the main and most important were Realism and Impressionism. Realist painters believed that social conditions should be portrayed as they were. Impressionism, artists emphasized everyday subject matter and the changing quality of light. These two styles inspired many different things but mainly paintings.
With the Industrial Revolution towns and cities grew. During the late 1700s in the United Kingdom the development of the textile industry and in steam power lead to a population growth. For example Manchester, this town went from having a population of 10,000 to more than 300,000! By 1911 its populations was more than 2,300,000 people. Manchester became an industrial center. Not only did the population in the UK but all over the world including the United States!
Summary
With population growth, modernization and visual arts going on during the industrial revolutions I believe the good has outweighed the negative. With all these things happening comes growth. New thinking, better economy, better life styles has come from the industrial revolution! This is why I think the industrial has had many positive effects on society. Without the Industrial Revolution we would not have what we have today.
